We’re just over a month away from the start of the DirectEmployers 2013 Annual Meeting & Conference (DEAM13), taking place October 21-24 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, California, and we’re anticipating this year’s conference to be the best one yet. While we always deliver a great event, this year encompasses a number of new features that we think will benefit our attendees. What new features are we speaking of? Let’s take a closer look at these exciting additions…

AWARDS COMPETITION
The awards competition was initiated by our Board of Directors to showcase Member companies for their exemplary work in recruitment, technology and OFCCP compliance. Earlier this summer we accepted nominations, currently under review by an awards committee comprised of fellow Members, to determine winners for each category. A designated session in three tracks will feature a panel of these winners, discussing their championed technology, strategy or process to help attendees gain insight on how their organization can create innovations of their own.

VETERANS CONNECT CAREER FAIR
It’s always been a goal of ours to foster communication and relationships among our Members and protected classes. On Monday, October 21, our first-ever Veterans Connect Career Fair will connect employers with veterans, transitioning military and their families who may be seeking employment opportunities. Employers interested in participating in this event should register on or before Friday, September 13, 2013.

DEMO HALL
We enjoy providing our Members with information on new products and services that can simplify their jobs and improve their working strategies. The demo hall will host a collection of our sponsors and partners prepared to talk with you regarding your needs and how they can potentially fulfill them. Conveniently located adjacent to the meeting space, be sure to check it out and learn about the latest recruiting technologies, see product demonstrations and pick up loads of freebies!

TECHNOLOGY TRACK
With ever-changing innovation, it can be hard to keep up with the latest trends and ways that you can leverage what’s out there into your recruiting and compliance strategies. This year we’ve added a fourth track to supplement our recruiting, leadership and OFCCP sessions with a focus on technology. This track will feature presentations from DirectEmployers Product Development team, Google, Potentialpark Communications, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and more. See the full agenda – all sessions will be submitted for HRCI credits.

If you have yet to register for DEAM13, you can do so conveniently online. Remember that registration is free for DirectEmployers Members; the only cost to you is your hotel and travel expenses. We have secured a reduced room rate for our attendees, but be sure to book your room soon as this special room rate expires on Monday, September 30. We hope to see you soon!
