I was thrilled when I was approached about attending the SHRM 2014 Annual Conference & Exposition to help educate attendees on My.jobs and take pictures. Photography and videography have always been a passion of mine, so the opportunity to combine it with my day job made it that much better.

Being that this was my first time traveling with DirectEmployers and to a conference of this magnitude, I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I asked, I was met with mischievous grins from my fellow team members and just told to wear comfortable shoes and be ready to talk about My.jobs.

Upon arriving at the conference, I was immediately taken aback by the size of the event and the number of attendees. The scale of some of the exhibits is mind-boggling; you’ll see everything from a mini movie theatre to a small house. I didn’t have much time to look around though – soon after we unpacked and set up our new and improved booth, the floodgates opened and SHRM ’14 was underway.

It turned out I hardly got to use my camera due to large influx of traffic to our booth. I was able to break away occasionally and made it a point to capture the overall experience on film – the fun, the chaos, but most importantly, the awesome connections we made with nearly 1,000 attendees.

Below is a 30 sec video I created from the footage I captured that sums up the experience, probably better than words could describe:

Thank you to all who made it to our booth. If you were able to make it down to Orlando, you don’t have to wait until the next event to connect with us. Call our digital strategy team anytime at 866-268-6206 to learn more about My.jobs for employers.
