The following press release was issued on September 21, 2016 by the GettingHired, Inc. in regard to our recent partnership.

GettingHired, Inc., America’s largest career community for individuals with disabilities, has partnered with DirectEmployers Association

Hanover, Md. – GettingHired, Inc., a national disability outreach and recruitment solution focused on creating employment opportunities for individuals and veterans with disabilities and helping inclusive employers find talent, has partnered with DirectEmployers Association, a nonprofit human resources consortium owned and managed by more than 870 leading global employers formed to improve labor market efficiency through the sharing of best practices, research and the development of technology.

According to the Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy’s August 2016 Disability Employment Statistics, the unemployment rate for people with disabilities is more than twice that of those without (11.3 percent vs. 4.8 percent), highlighting the need for programs that help people with disabilities find work.

“We are excited about our partnership with DirectEmployers, the ability to co-brand and market between us means more awareness around compliance to organizations and ultimately moves the needle on employment for individuals with disabilities,” said Executive Vice President of GettingHired Tracey Klein. “We understand the frustration of being a job seeker and are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our community. This partnership is reflective of that.”

Recent Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Section 503 updates require outreach and positive recruitment with resources that can assist federal contractors in hiring individuals with disabilities. Additionally, OFCCP has set a utilization goal with the expectation that individuals with disabilities should represent up to seven percent of each of the contractor’s job groups if they have more than 100 employees. As GettingHired is a leader in the disability workforce solutions market, this partnership will help DirectEmployers members meet OFCCP requirements and further diversify their workforce pipelines.

GettingHired launched in 2008 with the sole purpose of helping people with disabilities find gainful employment and is now America’s largest career community for individuals with disabilities. GettingHired strives to empower an underserved workforce of professional job seekers with disabilities and create sustainable employment growth through a variety of opportunities, including accessible systems, easy-to-use job search, professional development, industry information, employer training, and OFCCP compliance tracking and reporting.

GettingHired will be exhibiting at the upcoming Society for Human Resource Management’s Diversity & Inclusion Conference October 25 – 27, 2016 in Austin, Tex.
