A lot has happened in recruitment marketing over the last decade. Social media and job aggregator sites have replaced traditional advertising methods such as in-column classified ads, and the technology now available to target and engage candidates has exploded. You might not realize however that the .JOBS top-level domain (TLD) came into fruition nearly 10 years ago!
Many people are still unaware that a .JOBS TLD exists, or understand what the heck that even means – but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Check out this 90-second video for a quick and simple explanation:
The My.jobs Network by DirectEmployers is the first ever inter-linking and coordinated use of a top-level domain, or TLD, specifically for job related content. The .JOBS TLD was introduced in 2005 which helped lead the way for more meaningful and creative TLDs to be created. Last year hundreds of new TLDs were released, confirming our suspicions that this trend was going catch on.
