At DirectEmployers Association, we pride ourselves on our Member focus. We are proud of the connections we have built with each company and that our members have built with each other. That’s why, for the third year in a row, we wanted to celebrate our Members with a week dedicated just for them. Let’s recap what took place during this year’s Member Appreciation Week (MAW)!

We kicked off the week on Monday, October 29th, by sending gift packages to Members filled out the ‘gift me’ form. In today’s professional world, we recognize people wear several hats and take on more responsibility than they have in the past. So, we offered our Members one more hat in the form of a reversible stocking cap to represent DirectEmployers and our newest brand, Recruit Rooster. Hopefully this hat will keep our Members warm and not make them think of the extra responsibility they take on each day. This year, we even upped the ante by encouraging Members to post a picture of themselves on social wearing the hat for a chance to win a ‘Golden Ticket’ which included free registration to DEAM19 and $500 to offset travel costs.

Executive Director Candee Chambers and employment law expert John C. Fox beginning their webinar

OFCCP experts, Candee Chambers and John C. Fox, review their notes prior to the Member-exclusive compliance webinar.

On Tuesday, we offered Members an exclusive MAW Con mini-virtual conference featuring OFCCP compliance advice from our resident gurus, Candee Chambers and John Fox, along with a quick creative tutorial from Recruit Rooster’s Creative Director, Drew Palmer. If you couldn’t attend, both webinars are stored in Connect to view at your leisure. Wednesday brought us Halloween AND another webinar from partner, Sheridan Walker with HirePotential. Sheridan offered her advice on website accessibility in The Trick and Treat of Accessibility”. Like the previous webinars, this one can be easily accessed in Connect as well.

Thursday was one of our most anticipated days for the MAW planning team: a Connect re-launch with a shiny new interface and updated branding. The DirectEmployers Connect team has been hard at work on a facelift for the current look of the Association and its brands, and we were excited to apply that fresh look to Connect while also rearranging our resources into easy-to-navigate layout. Be sure to check  out Connect and search the library, discussion posts, and other resources–and let our team know what you think of the community’s new look!

Friday was the wrap-up day and a chance to have a bit of fun. TGIF, right? We provided five office themed trivia questions from pop-culture stables like Office Space and Friends to give participating Members the chance to win a $5 Starbuck’s gift card per question. Not only did we have Members answering the trivia questions, they started bantering back and forth with gifs and commentary,  demonstrating the great feel of comradery we work so hard to encourage.

DE Member, Kristin Garstka from Ghafari Associates

This year’s “Golden Ticket” winner, Kristin Garstka from Member Ghafari Associates, adds another add to her collection AND snags the grand prize of the week.

I’m sure your next question is, who won these great contests? Below is a list of the winners:

  • Golden Ticket: Kristin Garstka with Ghafari Associates (see the big announcement on social)
  • Trivia Question #1 & #3: Brian Pier with Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc.
  • Trivia Question #2: Josh Rock with Fairview Health Services
  • Trivia Question #4: Jonathan Liepe with Colorado Springs Utilities
  • Trivia Question #5: Jessica Sullins with FleishmanHillard, Inc.

We hope our Members felt the love from DirectEmployers last week, as much as we feel the love every day from them. To view more fun photos of some of this year’s participants, check out our Member Appreciation Week photo album on Flickr. Until next year!
