The “OFCCP Week in Review” is a simple, fast and direct summary of relevant happenings in the OFCCP regulatory environment published every Friday. Here are this week’s developments:
OFCCP BUDGET: The White House on Monday, February 2, unveiled its requested FY 2016 budget, including the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed budget, and within it, OFCCP’s hoped-for budget for next year. OFCCP is likely to find its budget request closely scrutinized by a Congress dubious about OFCCP’s current direction. Here is a link where we published on Tuesday morning John Fox’s short blog highlighting OFCCP’s budget request: http://www.directemployers.org/2015/02/03/ofccps-fy-2016-proposed-budget-reveals-large-differences-contractor-communitys-sense-proper-direction/
LABOR DEPARTMENT SOLICITATION OF COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ALL DOL REGULATIONS: Comments due from the public not later than February 25, 2015. The Department of Labor, on February 3, invited the public, via a “Request for Information” published in the Federal Register (80 FR 3715-16), to “comment on how the Department can improve any of its significant regulations by modernizing, modifying, redesigning, streamlining, expanding, or repealing them.” Candee Chambers and the Compliance Advisory Council will be announcing upcoming meetings for DE Members to discuss possible suggestions Members might wish to put forward to OFCCP concerning its regulations in response to the Department’s invitation.
