INDIANAPOLIS, April 24, 2015 –– Indianapolis-based nonprofit, DirectEmployers Association, announces keynote speakers for its upcoming 2015 Annual Meeting & Conference (DEAM15). With an agenda featuring industry experts and thought-leaders, this years’ keynote speakers are set to align with the Association’s 2015 goal of bridging the gap between OFCCP compliance and recruitment marketing professionals and focus on veteran initiatives and diversity in the workplace.
The conference will begin on Wednesday, May 13, with pre-conference workshops focusing on OFCCP compliance regulations and recruitment marketing practices and will feature the conference’s first keynote, Colonel David W. Sutherland of Easter Seals Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services. Colonel Sutherland culminated his 29 years of services following Brigade Command, as the Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with a principle focus on Warrior and Family Support. As the Chairman of Easter Seals Dixon Center, Sutherland brings innovative approaches that work to harness existing community-based support to deliver extraordinary results for veterans and their families. Awards and decorations include, among others, the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Purple Heart, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge Second Award and Senior Parachutist Badge.
DEAM15’s second keynote WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist, Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever, will close the conference and conduct a meet and greet with conference attendees after her keynote speech. Catchings is an accomplished and respected American athlete both on and off court. Her awards include three Olympic gold medals, WNBA MVP honors, Finals MVP honors, a WNBA Championship and nine WNBA All-Star recognitions. Off court, Catchings takes every opportunity to give back to her community and inspire others. In 2004, she established Catch the Stars Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering youth to achieve their dreams by providing goal-setting programs to promote literacy, fitness and mentoring. She also serves on a number of panels and committees and has appeared with First Lady Michelle Obama during her “Let’s Move” tour.
