INDIANAPOLIS, IN May 13, 2014 –– Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, announced Mr. Bill Warren, Executive Director of DirectEmployers Association, has signed a reaffirmation Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve at the organization’s 2015 Annual Meeting and Conference. Warren was joined in signing by Mr. Tom Bullock, ESGR Chief of Employer Outreach.

The Statement of Support confirms that DirectEmployers joins other employer Associations in pledging:

  • We fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).
  • Our managers and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
  • We appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire guardsmen, reservists and veterans.
  • We will continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war.

In addition to signing on behalf of DirectEmployers Association, Warren has challenged all member companies to join with him in signing a Statement of Support to publicly honor their employees who voluntarily serve their communities and our nation in the National Guard and Reserve.
