It’s hard to believe that we’re almost at the end of 2018 and another year of membership at DirectEmployers Association. Our goal as an association is to support members using a variety of programs and resources. Take a look at some of our highlights from 2018!

DE Membership 101 Series

We know how busy our Members are, but they still need information regarding membership and HR in quick bite-sized segments. This year we introduced a Membership 101 series dedicated to providing quick snippets of information on current products and services and HR trends to our Members. We have a whole new calendar of events planned for next year so stay tuned for the topics that we’ll be covering.

DE Connect Anniversary

Launched in May of 2016, Connect replaced Pipeline to be the password-protected home of Member networking, webinar archives and other resources. Each week Members crowdsource via discussion posts in Connect, reach out to connect with peers or browse available resources. To celebrate our 2-year anniversary, we did a feature of some of our favorite things during the week of May 13th.

Connect Summer Challenge

We love to see our Members engaged and participating in the Connect Community. We love it so much that we made a game out of it and offered prizes to the top three finishers. Items like social media participation, connecting with a peer, contributing to the resource library, or even referring a coworker to the competition earned points towards a designer wallet, a box from Olive & Cocoa, or an Echo Dot from Amazon. The competition was fierce, but our top three finishers were: Ashley Herman with ONEok, 1st place; Jonathan Liepe with Colorado Springs Utilities, 2nd place; Katie Erdman with TAD PGS, 3rd place. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

Member Appreciation Week

There is no denying that our Members work hard–very hard! And we want a way to say thank you for the work you do for your organizations and DirectEmployers. Member Appreciation Week kicked off with a bang on October 29th when we sent a surprise gift to anyone who registered to participate. The theme this year was, “Hats off to you!” so everyone received a cozy, reversible stocking hat to display both DirectEmployers and Recruit Rooster brands and packets of tea and hot cocoa. Throughout the week, we offered member exclusive webinars and content re-features. Finally, the week wrapped up with a fun trivia game on Twitter where Members went head to head to answer five pop culture office-themed questions. Congrats to Brian Pier, Josh Rock, Jonathan Liepe, and Jessica Sullins for winning!

Resources

We love collaborating with our members to create resources that are beneficial and impactful to them. Below are some of our favorite items:

  • DE Resource Matrix: An easy to use tool that helps you determine which product can answer the question you or your recruiter may need answered.
  • Requisition Review & Sourcing Checklist: Born from a Discussion Post question, this resource was the product of six members coming together to provide resources and answers from their own companies which led to the creation of a new document for Members.
  • Workday Roundtable: Many of our Members are considering, in the process, or have switched to the Workday ATS, and they have questions. In conjunction with Deane Osner at Shaw Industries, DirectEmployers hosted two Workday Roundtables (found here and here) to give Members a place to connect and learn best practices from each other on implementation, roll-out and management of the system.
  • Feature Guides: DirectEmployers offers many products and services and to aid in the training and adoption of each product, we develop and maintain feature guides to provide instruction on use and best practices.

Member Mentor Program

Many Members have questions about not only the products and services included in membership, but also the HR industry in general, and some want to connect directly with another professional to learn and share ideas. Enter the Member Mentor Program. Whether you’re a seasoned professional looking to share ideas or are new to the Association, this program is for you and can provide a much-needed connection in an overwhelming world. Mentor matches made: 15 to-date.

It’s been a year for the books and next year is already gearing up to be another productive year with new engagement opportunities for Members! If you have an idea of how to get other Members involved or would like to host a roundtable or even talk through ideas you have, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Cheers to 2018 and looking forward to 2019!
