In celebration of Disability Pride Month, leading nonprofit Disability:IN has released its 2024 Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion. On this list, top employers are categorized with scores of 100, 90, or 80, based on the results of the organization’s Disability Equality Index benchmarking tool. The Disability Equality Index was developed in 2015, beginning with 80 participating companies and has since grown 7x to now include 542 organizations. Of this year’s participating employers, we are thrilled to share that 39% are DirectEmployers Members!

The Disability Equality Index is an objective, reflective, forward-thinking, and confidential disability rating tool designed to assist business in advancing inclusion practices. This comprehensive tool helps companies benchmark their disability inclusion efforts across five categories:

  • Culture & Leadership
  • Enterprise-Wide Access
  • Employment Practices
  • Community Engagement
  • Supplier Diversity

Employers receive scores from 0 to 100, with those scoring 80 and above earning designation as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion. The combined findings are then compiled into a Disability Equality Index Report to share notable findings, trends, areas of growth, and areas where improvement is still needed.

Let’s get into the list – congratulations to the following DirectEmployers Members who earned recognition as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion this year!
