Catherine Eschbach, Director, OFCCP

The U.S. Department of Labor announced this afternoon that Appellate Attorney Catherine Eschbach has been appointed as the new Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). This announcement comes near the 90-day mark of the rescission of Executive Order 11246, which eliminates illegal DEI programs.

Eschbach will lead the transition of OFCCP under its new scope and mission, restoring merit-based efforts to ensure equal opportunity for all workers. Prior to her new role, she spent more than six years with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Houston, Texas (previously serving as a judicial law clerk for both U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas), where she was also part of the Grievance Oversight Committee for the Texas Supreme Court. In addition, she served as the president of the Houston Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine’s School of Law, and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology from Vanderbilt University.
