State-Of-The-Art National Web-Based System, NACElink Represents The Next Generation of Online College Recruiting
Indianapolis, IN, January 14, 2003 – DirectEmployers Association and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) today announced the public release of NACElink, the eagerly awaited, integrated, web-based, national college recruiting system linking colleges, students and employers. After extensive testing, the system is now available at www.NACElink.com to all employers.
Developed by leading college career center directors and corporate human resource professionals through the recently announced alliance between NACE and DirectEmployers Association, NACElink has been specially designed to meet the needs of the constituency of these two non-profit organizations.
“NACElink is the result of members from both organizations coming forward to articulate their specific needs,” says Marilyn Mackes, NACE executive director. “One of the many appealing aspects of this groundbreaking new system is that it offers college career centers a wide range of customization options to ensure that the site becomes part of the center’s individual identity.”
“Members of both NACE and DirectEmployers Association have been instrumental in the development of NACElink and will continue to drive its development based on their needs,” said Bill Warren, executive director of DirectEmployers Association. “Privacy of student data, marketing to students and alumni, and cost concerns are now controlled by employers and college career centers working together.”
Twenty-seven schools participated in the development and testing of NACElink: Yale University, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Purdue University, University of Arizona, University of Nebraska Lincoln, University of Oregon, Rensselaer Polytechnic University, Georgetown University, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of California Berkeley, Arizona State University, Boston University, Florida State University, New York University, Pennsylvania State University, Rice University, Stanford University, George Washington University, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Florida, University of Maryland College Park, University of Notre Dame, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Virginia.
NACElink which includes job postings, a resume database, and tools for career services administration and interview-scheduling, is available on the NACElink web site (www.nacelink.com), through DirectEmployers Association’s Internet employment search engine (www.directemployers.com) and through each participating college career center web site.
“NACElink is uniquely designed to complement our on-campus recruiting efforts,” says Ted Glatt, manager of university relations and talent sourcing for Lockheed Martin Corporation. “It has an easy-to-use and efficient job posting feature to communicate all types of employment opportunities.”
“Through NACElink, schools can connect their constituents in powerful and positive ways,” says Shirley Marciniak, associate director of employer relations at Purdue University. “Because its job-posting, resume data base, and interview-scheduling components are integrated in one data base, the system makes it easier for students and employers to interact. This means fewer missed opportunities for students and more exposure for employers.”
DirectEmployers Association’s member companies include an impressive group of industry leaders such as Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT), Accenture (NYSE: ACN), Allegis Group, Alltel Corporation (NYSE: AT), Analysts International (Nasdaq: ANLY), AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN), Bank One (NYSE: ONE), BAE Systems (BAESF.PK), Bausch & Lomb (NYSE: BOL), Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Cingular Wireless, Eastman Kodak (NYSE: EK), GE (NYSE: GE), Getronics, Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), Hall Kinion (Nasdaq: HAKI), H&R Block (NYSE: HRB), IBM (NYSE: IBM), John Deere (NYSE: DE), Kindred Healthcare (Nasdaq: KIND), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Merck (NYSE: MRK), Motorola (NYSE: MOT), Mutual of Omaha (NYSE: MUO), Nestle USA, Inc.
