Ashley Romanias, reported successor of OFCCP Director Catherine Eschbach

While no official announcement has been made by the U.S. Department of Labor on her departure, reports are making their way through the regulatory sphere that Catherine Eschbach is leaving the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), where she has served as Director since March 2025. It is reported that she will take on a new role as Principal Deputy General Counsel at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

On Monday, October 6th, Ashley Romanias will assume the role of OFCCP Director, bringing her experience in both government policy and private practice. She has previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of Labor, working across agencies such as EBSA, OSHA, and MSHA. Prior to this role, she practiced law as an associate at an AmLaw 100 firm.

What does this mean for the future of OFCCP, where FY 2026 funding has yet to be approved? More to come as budget negotiations continue – stay tuned!
