Just weeks after OFCCP Director, Patricia Shiu, warned of regulation changes soon to come during her prepared remarks at the ILG 2013 National Conference, the OFFCP is now releasing an updated Federal Contract Compliance Manual (FCCM). Meant to provide direction and guidance to compliance officers on procedural and technical issues, this manual does not act as a substantive policy. Nonetheless, it is an invaluable resource to compliance experts of companies both large and small, acting as a working model to help form an in-house strategy that is compliant with the proposed regulations.
With new regulations set to go into effect at any time, it is no surprise that changes have been made to the manual. The Department of Labor (DOL) offers a first look at this manual, conveniently available for download online. In addition, the OFCCP will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, August 27th at 1:30 pm EDT to provide further detail on the updated document. More information on downloading the manual and registering for the webinar can be found on the DOL website.
Whether this sets compliance experts’ minds at ease with insight into what the upcoming changes may be, or if they will be left with more questions than answers, is yet to be seen. As we near the fourth quarter of 2013, we can only hope that additional direction will be provided. Looking for more assistance with compliance issues?
