While most industry conferences have come and gone, the DirectEmployers 2013 Annual Meeting & Conference (DEAM13) is just getting started, giving HR professionals one last chance to network, learn, and have fun—all while at a beautiful resort on the shores of San Diego, California. Although the conference is set to start on Monday, October 21, there is still plenty of time to register to attend, and plenty of reasons to do so. The Venue
This year we took DEAM to the beach! The Loews Coronado Bay Resort is set between the Pacific Ocean and Coronado Bay making for beautiful views—not to mention the convenient proximity of the guest rooms to the meeting space! After a day of educational sessions, check out the spa, walk along the beach, or head to the fitness center for a game of tennis, yoga class or simply to use the weight machines. We highly recommend participating in one of the recreational activities to make to most of your trip such as surfing or sailing!
The Area Attractions
Whether you are coming early or staying after the conference ends, it’s a great idea to explore the area while you have the chance. On the island, visit the resort-like shops and restaurants of downtown Coronado and walk through the historic Hotel Del Coronado. You can also take a ferry, or drive across the Coronado Bay Bridge into San Diego to experience the culture, shopping, and nightlife of the famed Gas Lamp District, the USS Midway or Old Town San Diego. Make the most of your free night during the conference and gather your new friends to explore the beauty of the city!
The Networking Opportunities
Not just about fun and learning, DEAM13 offers a perfect opportunity to make new acquaintances and build your professional network. During the evening receptions and throughout the conference, attendees will have plenty of time to mingle and converse.
Wednesday night, October 23, we will be gathering the troops and heading to the San Diego Zoo for a night of fun, food and opportunities to privately view the animal exhibits. This casual atmosphere might just be the perfect place to make lasting connections with your fellow HR professionals.
While some may have apprehension towards attending a conference as the sole representative of their company, networking opportunities are meant to ease the tension. This year you will have the opportunity to meet other DEAM13 attendees prior to the conference. Our Pre-Conference Online Networking event will take place Wednesday, October 16 at 1:00 pm EDT, from the convenience of your office computer. We also have DEAM groups on LinkedIn and in Pipeline that offer you an opportunity to make connections in advance.
