By now, employers across the nation have all come to the consensus that diversity hiring is not just a good business practice, but that it also can have a dramatic impact on your business’s profitability. Why? New perspectives and cultural differences create expanded thinking and have been proven to help organizations outperform their competition whose workforce population is less diverse. According to a study conducted by McKinsey, companies in the top quartile for racial and ethnic diversity are 35 percent more likely to have financial returns above their respective national industry medians.[1]
While it’s easy to say you’re working toward creating a diverse workforce, it takes action from the top down to create a full-scale movement forward. We’re happy to see that of the 50 organizations represented on this list, 36 of the top companies for diversity are Members of DirectEmployers Association. Not only have they started the conversation, but they’ve set the standard for diversity hiring and more.
These companies represent 50 of the nation’s top competitors for diversity talent and were judged on everything from talent pipeline and talent development to leadership accountability and supplier diversity. Be sure to take a moment to congratulate your peers in DE Connect, and start a conversation on how you’re driving change in your organization. You never know what inspiration you could find amongst your peers!
