This year’s highly anticipated 31st Annual ILG National Conference, hosted by the Indiana ILG, is packed with informative sessions, unforgettable keynotes and valuable networking opportunities. This year’s theme, “Raising the Game – Winning at Compliance,” aims to help attendees navigate the complexities of OFCCP compliance and take their organizations to the next level.

With the OFCCP’s pending regulatory changes, the re-election of President Obama and a new Secretary of Labor close at hand, it’s vital for HR professionals, OFCCP and EEO representatives to attend now more than ever.

Keynotes:
Prior conference attendees may remember Ron Clark. Disney’s 2000 American Teacher of the Year and Founder of the Ron Clark Academy will be kicking off day one and energize attendees. Here’s a video preview of what to expect.

You won’t want to miss Marine Corporal Josh Bleill, who will share his journey from enlistment to severe injury while serving in Iraq, followed by his recovery and new life including a career as an Indianapolis Colts Community Spokesperson.

Bill Strickland, noted as one of the world’s greatest leaders, will address attendees on day two. Strickland is nationally recognized as a visionary leader who authentically delivers educational and cultural opportunities to students and adults within an organizational culture that fosters innovation, creativity, responsibility and integrity.

Jane Elliott, famous for the “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes” discrimination experiment, will provide an inspiring take on diversity while sharing tales of an irrational class system.

The final keynote will be Donna Brazile, a political commentator, strategist and author. She has worked on every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000, when she became the first African American to manage a presidential campaign. Donna has received many accolades throughout her career including the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s highest award for political achievement.

Many of the keynotes will also participate in meet and greets and book signings.

Sessions:
Pre-conference sessions begin Tuesday, July 30 at 9:00 AM. Four concurrent sessions will be running throughout the day and cover a broad range of topics including metrics, case studies, adverse impact and affirmative action.

Wednesday is the first official day and will include an address from Patricia Shiu, Director of OFCCP. The afternoon’s concurrent sessions will cover topics such as Internet applicants, compensation analysis, EEOC legal update, linkage agreements and disability programs to name a few.

The morning of day two features ODEP Assistant Secretary Kathleen Martinez. There will also be an OFCCP regulatory update you won’t want to miss. After lunch, the conference will break out into concurrent sessions exploring validating tests, The Fisher v. University of Texas Case, veteran hiring and Disability Equality Index.

After Hours:
Evening receptions on both nights will help attendees decompress, network and share valuable lessons learned from earlier in the day. Attendees are in for a special treat, as day two will include an evening reception at the Indiana State Museum (Photo courtesy of VisitIndy.com.).
