AJ Selvey

VP of Membership Development

AJ Selvey is the Vice President of Membership Development at DirectEmployers Association and has been with the organization since 2010. In his current role, he leads the Membership Development, Member Engagement, and Quality Assurance teams, offering support to more than 15 employees under his direct leadership. As a skilled business development professional and valued leader, AJ brings 20+ years of industry experience and demonstrates knowledge in the fields of recruitment, staffing, business development sales, compliance and human capital management to the Association. Through this intricate knowledge of recruitment and talent management, AJ has spent the last 14 years providing Members and prospects with reliable guidance and assistance planning required workforce strategies, including: job listing syndication, military and veteran recruiting, search engine & mobile optimization and OFCCP compliance for the VEVRAA and Section 503 regulations.

In addition to his role on the Membership Development team, AJ also encapsulates a deep technological savvy, which he’s able to use to provide valuable advice on recruiting technology to Members. In 2020, he earned designation as a Certified Diversity Sourcing Professional (CDSP), displaying his dedication and expertise in diversity sourcing. AJ holds a BA degree from Hanover College in southern Indiana. When he’s not chatting with Members or offering guidance to his team, he can be found spending time with his wife and four children (all girls), on soccer fields watching his girls play, or out on the golf course working on his swing. AJ’s wife also works in the industry, helping companies implement applicant tracking systems.
