Hal Cooper

VP of Product Development

Hal Cooper is the Vice President of Product Development at DirectEmployers Association. As one of the original employees of the Association, Hal leads a team of 13 skilled developers who work to design and innovate DirectEmployers back-end technology for both its unparalleled OFCCP Compliance and Recruitment Marketing Solutions. In addition to leading the product development team, Hal is also responsible for facilitating all technical aspects of DirectEmployers, which includes: assessing the needs, architecting, developing and implementing new features within the Association’s service offering.

In Hal’s 15+ years of HR industry experience, he has accomplished many milestones including, creating the first true job search engine and NACElink Network in conjunction with 12 major universities. Prior to his career at DirectEmployers, Hal worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Monster Worldwide. Hal graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He later graduated from ITI Ottawa with a diploma in Computer Programming. In between earning his two degrees, he got his true education living in a tent and planting trees in the wilds of British Columbia.
